Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I picked up the clarinet as a boy, spent countless evenings practicing in the front room, and played all through my school years. Back then I couldn’t imagine ever setting the instrument down — it felt like a part of who I was.

But life has a way of filling up. A career came along, then a family, and the busy years that follow. The clarinet found its way into a closet, and somehow the days turned into decades. I never stopped loving music — I simply stopped making it, telling myself I’d get back to it “someday.”

Finding My Way Back

That someday finally arrived. With a little more time on my hands and a nudge from people who love me, I opened up that old case and gave it a try. The first notes were rusty — my fingers had forgotten what my heart still remembered — but within a few weeks something clicked. The joy came rushing back, and I was hooked all over again.

Before long I worked up the courage to join the East Idaho Community Band. Sitting in a room full of people who play simply for the love of it has been one of the great surprises of this chapter of my life. Every rehearsal stretches me a little further, and every performance reminds me why I started in the first place.

This little website is where I share those performances. It’s not about being perfect — it’s about the pure fun of playing again, and maybe encouraging someone else out there to dust off their own instrument. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy the music.
